"The freedom to play"
[General Rules]
[Art Rules]
[Discord/Chat Rules]
The Code of Conduct applies to every member of PKMNation,
from Champion down to member, and will be enforced equally for everyone.
Golden Rule
The most important of all, and we will adhere to it regardless. Treat everyone as you wish to be treated. This means with RESPECT and COURTESY. Be it a member or a mod that you are dealing with, they will be treated as you desire to be treated in turn. If an issue arises between two people, then bring the matter QUIETLY and PRIVATELY to a moderator. If the issue is with a mod, bring it a step higher. There will always be someone you can turn to for problem resolution.
Be fair in your dealings with others. We all have a life beyond what we do here. This is our enjoyment and our fun. Take this into consideration when someone may be upset over something that is happening in their lives. Patience and understanding of one another's issues goes a long way to giving support. Even if we are not familiar with an issue someone is experiencing, that does not mean we cannot be understanding of their turmoil and/or sympathize with their feelings. We're all human, we all have feelings. Respect them.
If a disagreement arises- and yes! We are aware this can happen, we're only human after all!- then handle the matter in a calm and mature manner. This means if you need a mediator to come into a private chat so things can be worked out, then ASK for a mediator. If you feel it's beyond the point of mediation, and there is nothing that can be done to alleviate the situation, then BE AN ADULT. Step back and WALK AWAY. Let the mod team know of the issue; there might be something a mod can do to alleviate the situation. If not, then at least the mods are aware of it, and will work to make sure the situation stays at a no conflict level.
Under no circumstances will handling a conflict
with anger, slander, or rumors be tolerated. We
are all adults, even if some are young in years; we
are extending you the courtesy of that maturity.
Extend it to others in return.
Please keep cursing to an absolute minimum. We are both family and age friendly, and foul language is neither. And in all honesty, there are even adults who are offended by such language. Therefore, we ask that it be kept out of posts to the group, and constrained in the chat rooms as much as possible. A slip now and then... Now. And. Then. ... can happen, and we do understand that. But constant use of 'F-Bombs' and other such language will be dealt with immediately.
If you are caught abusing the Now and Then exception to this, it is very possible you will find your privileges for the Group removed. Quickly.
Under no circumstance should group content be sexually driven. Any allusion or reference, even as part of character development, is strictly forbidden. This group is child friendly and sensitive subjects as such should be avoided.
Be aware we are a non-discriminatory group. Discrimination, for any reason, is not allowed amongst members. It is fine to not agree with/like the personal choices another makes, but it is not your right to berate another on the basis of that, for any reason at all. Conversely, this will not swing the other way. Sensitive issues will not be flaunted or shoved into people's faces just to get reactions, especially negative reactions. Also, if a sensitive topic is being discussed, any member can request the topic be stalled and stopped.
Such a request will be honored by all. If the request is not honored, then the requestor is asked to remove themselves from the discussion, and come to the mods about the matter.
This is another area where there will be few to no second chances.
Discrimination is wrong, period.
It will not be tolerated.
We only allow one account per member in the group! This is to keep confusion and mistakes to a minimum, as well as make the playing field equal for all.
All submissions and posts need to be kept relevant to the group. In other words... No Spamming. Either the group or in the chatrooms. And even relevant posts should be given time to be responded to. All of us have other lives and duties that we have to see to; therefore it's not always possible to get a reply within ten minutes, as much as we might all enjoy that. Please allow a reasonable length of time (a day or two) to pass before asking again. Also, dA is sometimes slow to alert to a submission being made. Give it time to show up before submitting something again and again.
The moderator team is comprised solely of volunteers. They are there to help you out as much as possible! Please, treat them with respect and courtesy. They are sacrificing their time for you and doing the best they can. If you have an issue with a mod, there are others in the mod team you can approach to help you with the issue. Under no circumstances will public disrespect to a mod be tolerated in any fashion.
No member of the Moderator Team can be blocked from a member's account. This prevents moderators from accomplishing their job, and therefore causes far too many issues. We do not allow it. Vice versa as well. No moderator will block another member of the group from their Nation moderating account.
Be considerate of others. We all have different ideas, opinions and beliefs; and not everyone wishes to hear them. Please take into account the feelings of others and respect their wishes to not be privy to them, this includes but is not limited to critiques, opinions, life choices, etc.
General Rules
We are a mature community, no matter how old in years you might personally be. This means we are understanding to others and the needs of others. Please do not assume that everyone has no life outside the group and can therefore immediately jump to your beck and call when you need them. Be understanding of their own lives and schedules. Some things take time.
As always, we hold to the rule of Real Life First.
If you change your username, please let the group know via note as soon as possible.Otherwise, we won't know who you now are, and your lovely babies could get misplaced!
Please follow the news journal to see any announcements and changes! We will update on EST time, and sometimes we ask things that require you to know what time the group runs on! This is especially important when sending in requests for Breedings, or heading out onto the Trails.
If you see something that should be brought to the attention of the Mod Staff, and there isn't one on, please let us know. This can be done via Discord, a note to the group, or even a personal note to one of us! However, keep in mind that some 'disagreements' are caused by the mediums we are using. Text has no vocal signals and body language. Use your best judgment. Someone might not truly be trying to start trouble.
Under no circumstances should you ever accept points or payment of any kind from a non-member for a Pokémon in our group. All Pokémon for
PKMNation are to remain strictly for the members here. If you leave the group, you are welcome to take your babies with you, of course. They are yours after all! You may hold onto a Pokémon and gift it to a new member when they join, as well. However, it is never acceptable to buy/sell/trade, etc. to a non-member of the group. That's just wrong, and it will be dealt with if we learn about it (which we will).
Art Rules
All art needs to be 100% hand-drawn. This means: No Tracing, No Heavy Referencing, No Use of Bases. If we catch you doing this, the first time we will ask you to remove the piece and redraw it. Subsequent times will result in disciplinary measures. You
ARE allowed to commission someone to do art for you, but credit must be provided to the person who did the work.
Only submit work to the group that is related to the group! If it's not a piece for PKMNation, then, lovely as it may be, we do not want it in our Gallery.
If you feature another person's Pokémon in a drawing or story, it's always better to be safe than sorry! Unless it's for an event that specifically specifies it's a surprise, then ASK FIRST. Surprises are nice, but if you portray someone's Pokémon wrong, or doing something that makes their owner uncomfortable, then all good intentions are overlooked.
Anyone can draw your Pokémon if you ask them to (and they agree); however, if the artist is not a member of the group, then that submission MUST go into the "Outsourced Art" folder of the gallery. If you submit it to any other folder, it will be denied.
If you commit to producing artwork (paying with levels, selling DYO, etc.), then make sure you can actually do the work in the time stated! If you repeatedly fail to meet this type of deadline, then you will be given a Strike. If you see someone repeatedly doing this, please send a note to the group letting us know!
Please make sure to submit a reference sheet to the group for your Pokémon. If there is no reference sheet approved in the group, then you cannot Breed, Battle, and Participate in certain events.
Artwork, be it literature or drawing, should not feature an overly violent scene, gore, extreme injury, abusive, or a great deal of harm towards a Pokémon or person. While we understand that some Pokémon are naturally violent species, we ask that members respect our kid friendly environment and keep the battles cartoonish at best. It's best to not show any blood from the injury at all! If you are unsure if a scene you wish to post to the group is too violent, feel free to note the group!
Drama Llamas are not welcome on Discord, because we simply do not stock the correct fodder for them. So please do not start drama. If you do, you will be removed from the chat for 24 hours, and you will be given a strike.
Even in our Discord server, we ask that all Code of Conduct rules and General Rules also be followed. Especially the Golden Rule. This helps with everyone getting along!
Failure to follow the rules of conduct can and will result in being silenced without warning. Your transgression would then be addressed in private.
