Hello all!

December has rolled around once more and as such we will be taking our usual holiday break! It's an extremely busy time of year for mods and members due to holidays, school, and work. As such, there are some things that will be closed and others that will not!

Group Functions

- Almost all journals will be closed and out of use! A reminder comment has been placed on them, so please be sure to not submit anything new until January.

- Group submissions will also be closed, except for: Battles, Missions, and Everyday Images. Missions and Battles will close after a week to allow for them to end, while Everyday Images will be open during the entire break!
Please be sure to not submit move learning's or reference sheets into this folder!

- Breeding's are closed as well!

- Anything submitted before midnight will still be processed! So no worries if you had something waiting before the 1st rolled around.

Reminders

- The Advent! As always, it will show up as a clickable button in your inventory everyday at 12:00:00am EST. Be sure not to miss a day to get a nifty prize at the end.~

- If you have any issues or things you'd like for us to discuss over the break, please either send us a note or put a comment in at the Suggestion Hotline. We'll do our best to improve over the break!

We've had an increase of members doing purchases for clutch Pokémon and what not in the Egg Clinic, and we unfortunately have to put a stop to this. The Egg Clinic is a work space for the moderators. Please ask for any Pokémon you are interested in via note or on the clutch when posted. Any new comments will be hidden and a reminder sent to the user about this.

Hello Everybody, 

We apologize for the delay in opening the group fully, however the past 3 weeks were far busier than we anticipated and it took a little longer for us to complete things. With no further ado, let me dive into the new changes we are implementing. 

Discord - It has officially been 1 month since we opened an official Discord channel and it has been a great success. The Moderating team has officially moved all administrative functions to Discord, and will be abandoning the use of Skype. As such, the Official Skype Hangout will be closing in two weeks. Effective September 23 at 11:59:59.999 EST the PKMNation Skype Hangout will no longer be officially moderated. If you wish to join our official Discord channel you may do so here Discord Chat.

Battles and Mega Bracelets - This has been a long time coming, but we are finally ready to re-open the Battle Station and provide a path to receiving Mega Bracelets. Battles will be officially open for the week of September 17, so please keep an eye on the journal updates for information. 

New Mods - We have successfully completed a new round of Moderator draft picks and once more have a full roster. Thank you to all that applied, and please help us in welcoming the new members of our team:

Hello all!

During this break things like trails and breedings will not be rolled! So unfortunately today's (Monday, Aug 21st) breeding's will not be rolled either, if you have sent them in.

Hello All,

As the summer comes to an end, and with many recent group changes, we will be closing the group for two weeks to allow us time to manage these things. We will be closing the group August 20th along with the [Mod Search] and will re-open September 4th, with some new changes and hopefully new mods.

[Mega Mega Megas]

At long last what everyone has been waiting for, Mega Stone Vouchers. No? Not what everyone has been waiting for? Well too bad, it's what you're getting. With the completion of the tournament there are some significant changes that affect megas. Firstly, we will no longer be handing out random Mega Stones as prizes, instead we have added a new item, Mega Stone Voucher, which can be redeemed at the Mega Station for the stone of your choice. So as to not leave out those that have randomly received stones in the past, we are issuing a free exchange period. Any member can exchange their existing Mega Stones for any of their choosing free of charge until July 8th 11:59:59.999.

Well, that's all fine and good, but what about actually being able to Mega evolve pokemon? Well, as you all will note there is a new Key Item listed in your inventories, Mega Bracelets. Yes, they are finally, here, however obtaining one will not be so simple. While some may be handed out as special rare prizes, most will have to be earned, through the new battle system pioneered by the tournament. The details of how to earn a Mega Bracelet will be released along with the battle system

Hello Nationers and to-be members!

It's the time again! We're having another Group Opening!
This will be our first one since the fall, and we're happy to welcome in new members with open arms.

As stated in a previous news update, we'll be having seasonal openings that last 2-3 days rather than 1 day a month.
So we hope that you all wanting to join have prepared!

To our current members, please try to remember not to direct new comers to answers! We understand wanting to help, but any of the questions we ask are always in the informational journals, and they should be something read before joining.

And with that out of the way, here are this Season's Questions!

1. What is the difference between an Evo Stone and an Upgrade Stone? Please give an example for each stone of when you would use them.

2. When should you post a design to the egg clinic?

3. What information should be included in your pokemon's reference?

4. What is the group's overall rating? What kind of content is not allowed in the group as a result?

5. What is a DYO and how many can be included in a clutch? What is needed for a DYO to be accepted by the group?

Mini-update. Z-moves can now be taught with TM's. Your mon must know the appropriate move before you use the TM in order to learn the z-move. IE; Spirit Shackle for Sinister Arrow Raid. Z-moves cannot be taught via Jumble Berry.  The delibird market has been updated.

New information about Type: Null

First off, we'd like to start off by congratulating the following mods for passing their trials and officially joining the mod team!

They've worked hard and earned their positions here. Thanks to everyone (member and mod alike) for working with us on improving the group to help everyone. And now, onto more news!

We hope that you've had a wonderful few months back, and that you are still looking forward to the tourney when it's available (an update on that will come out at a later date). But for now, we've got some news about an addition that we think you've all been waiting for.

Generation 7 is coming to Nation soon!

At the current moment their information is being set up for the database for the site, but all of us can expect it to be fully implemented around March 9th.
Before we make the addition official though, there are some things that we'd like to cover on how bringing in the new generation will affect some things in the group!
Please remember that during the time between now and March 9th that things can change in how we handle the new generation! Be on the lookout for any potential updates.

Alolan Forms and How They Affect You

Alolan forms will be treated as that; forms. You can use a Form Candy on a normal Pokémon to turn them into their Alolan form! (Of course this only works on those with an official form).

Once you use a Form Candy to change your 'mon Alolan, there is no going back. Choose wisely on if you want your Pokémon to be tropical or not before you make that decision!
This rule applies to Alolan form Pokémon from clutches! An Alolan Vulpix form a clutch cannot have a Form Candy used on it to make it a normal Vulpix.

Oricorio will be treated like Rotom! Forms will be changed with form candy, will have form specific moves and typings.

You can evolve Pokémon like Pikachu and Cubone into Alolan forms without the use of a Form Candy.

When breeding, only an Alolan form can give birth to an Alolan form.

Fusions will retain the same rules; the Types must be taken from the parents. If you have a Psychic Pikachu it cannot evolve into an Alolan Raichu without losing its Fusion status.

Move sets will be treated much like evolutions! Once you're Pokémon is in its Alolan form they can learn Alolan move sets, but cannot learn form their regular move set.

Lycanroc will be treated the same as Meowstic, where both the Midday and Midnight forms can learn each others move sets.

Legendaries, etc.

With the exception of Type:Null, all Legendaries, Tapu's, and Ultra Beasts will be limited like other Legendaries, etc. have in the past- for moderators choices and Legendary Rarity Events.

Now you're probably wondering, "But Mods, what about Type:Null?". Well! We'll be keeping Type:Null as a special obtainable Pokémon through which can be earned by anyone during a special event. It will be treated more like a Legendary where it cannot breed nor be traded between inventories. Type:Null will be the main prize for some special events, with other secondary prizes available as well. Several of them can be obtained in the group, however only through prize winnings.

Type:Null will only be available as one per person, so if you've had the chance to obtain two, you'll unfortunately have to give up the other! They are also not eligible for trait changes- meaning that no OoS items will be added onto them nor will they come with traits from the event.  This is due to Type:Null's unique genome; our current technology will simply not allow us to alter its genetics. This however may not always be the case, we never know what scientific breakthroughs our labs can achieve once given the opportunity to study a greater number of specimen as they are introduced into our world.This means, that basic Type:Null are not set in stone, that is just the current limitation

Hello Nationers! As per usual, we will be going on our month long break for December here within the next hour.
Here are some of the things that you all need to look out for and remember:

- The Advent Calendar! Every day of December go to the PKMNation website and be sure to click the "Advent" button in your inventory to collect your daily prize! There will be some special gifts at the end and for participating everyday.

Because the Advent Calendar is a daily event, there will be no Test Your Luck the month of December.

- All group folders will be closed except for one: Everyday Images! Please be sure to only submit images that belong in that folder.

- All group activities are on hold! That entails:
• Any and all journals
• Breeding notes
• Events (aside from the Advent)
You are free to still submit inquiries and what not to the group! Any submissions/etc. that need to be processed in the queue that were submitted before the break will still be processed!

As another reminder we will be going through and revamping our informational journals! If you still have any questions or concerns that you'd like for us to address, please do so!

A few minor updates as well for you!

-The Reference Sheet Library folder has been named to "Blank Reference Sheets" to avoid future confusion (we hope!)

-Our male pokemon folder was full and we had to replace it! So if you're confused at the lack of pages in the folder and why it's suddenly under female pokemon, that's why!

-Sun and Moon pokemon have NOT been implemented in Nation and we are still running spoiler free in our group until further notice. We will update you when we have changed this.

-We're preparing for our end of the year vacation! Since most of the moderators on the team will be celebrating winter holidays, things will be snowing down around here and not up to their usual speed. We don't mean to give you the cold shoulder and we promise this time away will be sleeting but we want to wish everyone happy holidays regardless!

Surprise! News update!

The news journal has been freshly archived! Now you won't have to squint your eyes to try and find old news!

The Battle Journal has been updated! That's right, battles are finally returning! Before we all get excited and get ready to beat up our best friends, we'd like to address a few key factors in regards to this update.

Battling is currently closed to allow moderators to get used to the new system before the notes start pouring in. It will open in approximately a week's time but please allow us some leeway in case something should interfere with that.

--Battles are in a TESTING MODE. This means that mistakes will happen, it's not a perfect system, and we're learning as we go with how it is. To keep this from blowing up in our faces instantly, we are currently NOT IMPLEMENTING GYMS OR MEGA STONES.

We will get used to the system, iron out the kinks, and then look into expanding it's horizons. Please remember to be polite when addressing moderators in battles. Even if something goes wrong do not take your frustration out on the mod rolling the battle. We will be just as frustrated as you are and we want to work to fix the problem asap and make it fun for everyone. Yelling and acting unsavory will benefit no one.

***We know that a lot of you want mega-evolution. We assure you that we are not ignoring your many comments on our journals regarding it.***



Some friendly reminders:

-Mass leveling has encountered quite a few issues as of late. We'd like to remind everyone of our rules in regards to it. There is a limit of 300 levels in a single mass leveling deviation. Also, a continuous background will only count for 2 levels for a background. Backgrounds must be individual to count for each drawn image. Here's an example of acceptable multiple backgrounds!

-Be careful of what folder you submit to!
Reference Sheet Library: This folder is for blank reference sheets! Not your pokemon's refs!
Sketches: This folder is for deviations that fall under our sketches category.
Journal Sales: This folder is for journals about selling pokemon. Please do not submit journals to the clutch corral!

-Double check your breeding note before you send it! We don't want to have to deny your note but if the links are broken, the mons are both the same gender, or the owners aren't even listed, we're going to have to say no and ask you to resend it.

-Time. This has become an issue again and we'd like to remind everyone that moderators have lives outside of Nation. We cannot be here 24/7 responding to everything. While we'd love to be able to instantly process your works, it just doesn't happen that way. Please allow us to have that time to work with you. We have jobs, colleges, schooling, families, etc. We get sick, we have loved ones who get sick, we have times were we just need to go out and have fun and sometimes even we like to submit to the group.

Waiting is hard. We know that. We understand the frustration when things expire in our queue. We're not happy about it either but that happens. Please remember to be polite to the moderators even when you're not happy. You're free to talk to us about your concerns but it must be done in a reasonable manner. Do not get aggressive, do not get snippy, do not accuse of targeting you. We're here to help you but it becomes difficult when you do not allow us to be of help to you.

That being said, thanks for all the joy you do bring us and we can't wait to bring more to the table in the future!
